Vela Xtream support
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Vela is a player for your own IPTV service. It comes with no content, no channel list and no provider: you sign in with the Xtream login or the M3U playlist your provider gave you, and Vela turns it into a library you can browse.
Contact
Email gddjngr@gmail.com. We read every message. Telling us the version of Vela (Account, at the bottom), the name of the channel or title, and what you saw on screen gets you a useful answer much faster. Please don't send your password.
Signing in
Xtream login. Enter the server address, username and password your provider gave you. If you only have a long link containing get.php, choose M3U Playlist and paste it: Vela sees that it carries an Xtream login and signs in with it, film details and all.
M3U playlist. Choose M3U Playlist and paste the playlist's link (M3U or M3U8), or import the file from Files. Add an XMLTV link for the TV guide, plain or gzipped, or leave it empty and Vela reads the guide the playlist names. A playlist gives each film and series a title and a poster; plot and cast come only with an Xtream login.
You can add more than one provider, or a second address for the same one, in Account and switch between them.
A channel will not play
Try another channel first. If everything fails, the problem is usually the connection or the account rather than the app.
Vela tries a channel's other stream format, and then its own built-in player, by itself before it shows an error. If some channels still fail on an Xtream login, Account → Playback → Live format lets you pick the format your provider serves best.
“The provider refused the connection” usually means too many devices are streaming at once. Most subscriptions allow one or two. “The provider does not have this stream” means the channel is in your provider's list but is not being served right now; that is on their side.
A film or episode will not play, or stops
Vela plays formats iOS normally cannot, including Matroska (.mkv), AVI, HEVC, and AC3 or DTS audio. If a title still refuses, the file is often incomplete on the provider's server: try another title in the same category to check.
From version 1.4.0, if your provider drops the connection partway through, Vela reconnects and carries on from the same place. If it cannot, it says so, and Try Again picks up from there.
Watching on your TV
From version 1.4.0, tap the TV button at the top of the player (“Play On”) and pick a TV: AirPlay, Google Cast or DLNA, on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone or iPad. iOS asks for local network access the first time; Vela needs it to find TVs. While the TV plays, your phone is the remote.
If the card says “Keep Vela open while casting this title”, the TV could not fetch the stream from your provider itself, so your phone is passing it on: leave Vela open until you are done. Some formats cannot go to every kind of TV; Vela greys those out in the list and says why.
Search, subtitles and audio
Search matches the start of words and forgives small typos; it is part of Vela Pro. In the player, the “…” menu has audio tracks, subtitles and playback speed. What appears depends on what your provider put in that stream.
Your library is empty or out of date
Pull down on Home to refresh. Vela keeps a copy of your provider's catalog so it does not download it again on every launch, and refreshes it in the background; Account → Library → Auto-refresh sets how often, and Account → Storage → Refresh now does it straight away.
Vela Pro
Browsing, favourites, the TV guide and playback are free; on the free plan, playback pauses for a moment every 10 minutes. Vela Pro removes the breaks and adds search and recommendations.
Vela Pro is USD 4.99 a year in the US (the app shows your store's price), after a 14-day trial of everything that starts the first time you sign in. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in Settings on your device, under your Apple Account, not in Vela. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases in Account.
Privacy
Vela has no servers, no accounts and no analytics, and collects nothing. Your sign-in details stay in the iOS Keychain on your device and are sent only to your provider. The full Privacy Policy says what the app keeps and who it talks to.
